For scrap materials generated during the production process, Watson Brown offers Closed Loop Recycling
Our services support your primary process of converting raw materials into rubber products and begin with the scrapping of cured materials.
The following tasks need to be performed:
The scrap is collected at the point of generation and separated, if required, to ensure polymer consistency. Watson Brown will supply suitable collection containers, should this be required. After collection, materials are transported to the nearest Watson Brown site.
On arrival at Watson Brown, the materials are inspected and logged on our system for Quality Control and scheduling purposes. Before any materials are HSM processed, they are checked and, where required, processed to remove contamination such as foreign objects, metals, etc.
HSM processing is carried out as a batch process and each batch of materials is tracked and monitored as a part of our Quality Control System.
After HSM processing, materials are processed to a form suitable for re incorporation at the Customer's site. In most cases the materials will be sheeted off a mill and stacked and shrink wrapped on a pallet.
Materials are delivered to the Customer site in pre-agreed lots.
The materials can be incorporated into existing recipes, either in the internal mixer or on the dump mill/extruder. The latter will provide significant throughput improvements for the primary mixer.
