HSM opportunities

In general, clean materials with little degradation and uniform composition will result in recycled materials with properties closer to the original stock materials. The performance of HSM processed materials can be further improved if they are mixed with a virgin compound, typically at levels of up to 50%. Mixed and degraded materials, typically from post consumer waste such as tyres, can often be processed and used to manufacture down cycled products.

This means that HSM processed materials:

depending on the condition of the material to be recycled and the new application requirements.

As a wide range of material performances can be obtained from HSM processed materials, it is often simpler to begin by identifying a target application and then processing and formulating material to meet the required specification.
